from every angle. Walk the streets of the Old Town and peek into the Cathédrale St-Pi-
erre . When night falls, take your pick of cuisines and dine at one of the world-class cafes
or restaurants Geneva is renowned for.
GENEVA TO AIGLE Lake Geneva Ramble
Synchronise your watch in (1) Geneva at the flowery Horloge Fleurie in the Jardin
Anglais . Then catch a train to (2) Coppet , a little medieval town on the shores of Lake
Geneva. From here catch a boat or train or even walk to (3) Nyon , another ancient town
that tumbles down the hillside to the lake.
A quick train ride and you are in (4) Lausanne . Wander the hilly streets, pause for a
drink at a bar built into a bridge and revel in the wild creativity of the Musée de l'Art
Brut . In the morning, catch a lake boat to (5) Lutry in the heart of the Lavaux wine re-
gion . You can ride tourist trains or hike about the vineyards for views and tastings. Catch
another boat to (6) Vevey where you can tour the engaging lakeside museum run by local
big-shot Nestlé.
It's a quick train to (7) Montreux . Chill at the waterfront and then enjoy the fine local
cuisine. After a good night's rest, go for a morning stroll along the Chemin Fleuri (Flower
Path) to (8) Château de Chillon , an evocative old castle. Spend another night in
Montreux and then train it to (9) Aigle for wine and castles, and a final overnight stay.
