Standard Form of Domestic Sub-Contract 2002 Edition It is known as
DSC/C. It supersedes the DOM/1 which was introduced in 1980 687 .
A version of DOM/1 is still retained (DOM/2) for use in conjunction with
the JCT Standard Form With Contractor's Design (WCD 98). DOM/2 is
essentially a series of amendments to DOM/1 in order to import a sub-
contract design responsibility reflecting the contractor's own design respon-
sibility under WCD 98.
17.3.2 Extensions of time under DSC/C
Extensions of time are dealt with by clauses 2.1 to 2.10, which read as
follows:
Sub-Contractor's obligation - carrying out and completion of Sub-Contract
Works - extension of Sub-Contract time (2.1 to 2.10)
2.1 The Sub-Contractor shall carry out and complete the Sub-Contract Works in
accordance with the programme details in item 1 of the Particular Conditions
in Agreement DSC/A and reasonably in accordance with the progress of the
Works but subject to receipt of the notice to commence work on site as stated
in item 1 of the Particular Conditions in Agreement DSC/A, and to the
operation of clauses 2.2 to 2.10 and any revision to the period or periods for
the completion of the Sub-Contract Works in respect of a Variation for which
a 3.4 Quotation has been given and which has been stated by the Contractor
in his acceptance of the 3.4 Quotation.

If and whenever it becomes reasonably apparent that the commence-
ment, progress or completion of the Sub-Contract Works or any part
thereof is being or is likely to be delayed, the Sub-Contractor shall
forthwith give written notice to the Contractor of the material circum-
stances including, insofar as the Sub-Contractor is able, the cause or
causes of the delay and identify in such notice any matter which in his
opinion comes within clause 12.3.1.

In respect of each and every matter which comes within clause 2.3.1, and
identified in the notice given in accordance with clause 2.2.1, the Sub-
Contractor shall, if practicable in such notice, or otherwise in writing as
soon as possible after such notice:

estimate the extent, if any, of the expected delay in the completion of
the Sub-Contract Works or any part thereof beyond the expiry of the
period or periods stated in item 1 of the Particular Conditions in
Agreement DSC/A or beyond the expiry of any extended period or
periods previously fixed under clauses 2.3, 2.6 or 2.7 which results
