3A.1 .3 The Variation for which the Trade Contractor has submitted his 3A

Quotation shall not be carried out by the Trade Contractor until receipt
by the Trade Contractor of the confirmed acceptance issued by the
Construction Manager pursuant to clause 3A.3.2.

Content of Trade Contractor's 3A Quotation

3A.2 The 3A Quotation shall separately comprise:

3A.2 .1 the value of the adjustment to the Trade Contract Sum or the amount to

be taken into account in the computation of the Ascertained Final Trade
Contract Sum as the case may be (other than any amount to which
clause 3A.2.3 refers) including therein the effect of the instruction on
any other work and supported by all necessary calculations by refer-
ence, where relevant, to the rates and prices in the Trade Contract
Documents and including, where appropriate, allowances for any ad-
justment of preliminary items;

3A.2 .2 any adjustment to the Completion Period (including if relevant a re-

duction in the Completion Period stated in the Appendix) to the extent
that such adjustment is not included in any revision of the Completion
Period that has been made under clause 2.3 ( extension of time ), 2.9
( acceleration ) or in the Construction Manager's confirmed acceptance
of any other 3A Quotation;

3A.2 .3 the amount to be paid in lieu of any ascertainment under clause 4.21 of

direct loss and/or expense not included in any other accepted 3A
Quotation or in any previous ascertainment under clause 4.21;

3A.2 .4 a fair and reasonable amount in respect of the cost of preparing the 3A

Quotation;

and, where specifically required by the instruction, shall provide indicative
information in statements on

3A.2 .5 the additional resources (if any) required to carry out the Variation; and

3A.2 .6 the method of carrying out the Variation.

Each part of the 3A Quotation shall contain reasonably sufficient supporting
information to enable that part to be evaluated by the ConstructionManager.

Acceptance of 3A Quotation

3A.3 .1 If the Construction Manager wishes to accept a clause 3A Quotation

then he shall so notify the Trade Contractor in writing not later than the
last day of the period for acceptance stated in clause 3A.1.2.

3A.3 .2 If the Construction Manager accepts a clause 3A Quotation he shall

confirm such acceptance by stating in writing to the Trade Contractor
(in clause 3A and elsewhere in the Conditions called a 'confirmed
acceptance'):

3A.3 .2 .1 that the Contractor is to carry out the Variation;

3A.3 .2 .2 the value of the adjustment to the Trade Contract Sum or to be

taken into account in the computation of the Ascertained Final
