13A.1 .3 The Variation for which the Contractor has submitted his 13A Quota-

tion shall not be carried out by the Contractor or as relevant by
any Nominated Sub-Contractor until receipt by the Contractor of the
confirmed acceptance issued by the Architect pursuant to clause
13A.3.2.

13A.2 The 13A Quotation shall separately comprise:

13A.2 .1 the value of the adjustment to the Contract Sum (other than any

amount to which clause 13A.2.3 refers) including therein the effect of
the instruction on any other work including that of Nominated Sub-
Contractors supported by all necessary calculations by reference,
where relevant, to the rates and prices in the Contract Bills
and including, where appropriate, allowances for any adjustment of
preliminary items;

13A.2 .2 any adjustment to the time required for completion of the Works

(including where relevant stating an earlier Completion Date than
the Date for Completion given in the Appendix) to the extent that
such adjustment is not included in any revision of the Completion
Date that has been made by the Architect under clause 25.3 or in his
confirmed acceptance of any other 13A Quotation;

13A.2 .3 the amount to be paid in lieu of any ascertainment under clause 26.1 of

direct loss and/or expense not included in any other accepted 13A
Quotation or in any previous ascertainment under clause 26;

13A.2 .4 a fair and reasonable amount in respect of the cost of preparing the

13A Quotation;

and, where specifically required by the instruction, shall provide indica-
tive information in statements on

13A.2 .5 the additional resources (if any) required to carry out the Variation;

and

13A.2 .6 the method of carrying out the Variation.

Each part of the 13A Quotation shall contain reasonably sufficient sup-
porting information to enable that part to be evaluated by or on behalf of
the Employer.

13A.3 .1 If the Employer wishes to accept a clause 13A Quotation the Employer

shall so notify the Contractor in writing not later than the last day of
the period for acceptance stated in clause 13A.1.2.

13A.3 .2 If the Employer accepts a clause 13A Quotation the Architect shall,

immediately upon that acceptance, confirm such acceptance by stating
in writing to the Contractor (in clause 13A and elsewhere in the
Conditions called a 'confirmed acceptance'):

13A.3 .2 .1 that the Contractor is to carry out the Variation;

13A.3 .2 .2 the adjustment of the Contract Sum, including therein any

amounts to which clause 13A.2.3 and clause 13A.2.4 refer, to be
made for complying with the instruction requiring a Variation;
