Based on data from 36 sites in 6 provinces of northern China over
1990-2010, Lu et al. (2012) found that there was an increase in beneficial
insects (such as ladybirds and lacewings) and a decrease in pests (aphids)
associated with the widespread use of Bt cotton reducing insecticide
sprays.
Data for herbicide use for soybeans in 2007 and 2008 are from proprietary data.
