Scotland is a great place for a family holiday. There are plenty of things to keep
the young ones occupied, from wildlife parks and outdoor activities to top-notch mu-
seums with interactive hands-on exhibits. Many tourist towns and national parks or-
ganise events and activities for kids, and even local museums usually make an effort
with an activity sheet or child-focused information panels. Tourist offices are a great
source for information on child-friendly attractions.
Accommodation
Children are generally well received all over Scotland, but accommodation can sometimes
be a headache. Not all hotels and guesthouses (especially those at the boutique end of the
market) are happy to accept younger children, so check their policy before you book. Many
places quote a price per person rather than per room; look for B&Bs that advertise 'family
