Scottish Citylink ( www.citylink.co.uk ) buses link Fort William with other major towns and
cities. Shiel Buses ( www.shielbuses.co.uk ) bus route 500 runs to Mallaig (1½ hours, three
daily Monday to Friday only) via Glenfinnan (30 minutes) and Arisaig (one hour).

Train
The spectacular West Highland line runs from Glasgow to Mallaig via Fort William. The
overnight Caledonian Sleeper service connects Fort William and London Euston (£103
sharing a twin-berth cabin, 13 hours).
There's no direct rail connection between Oban and Fort William - you have to change at
Crianlarich, so it's faster to use the bus.
