signer style, with smiling professional staff and truly delicious food. Try scallops with
chorizo bolognaise, or pork belly with
mange tout
(snow pea)salad and lemongrass purée;
10 out of 10. And at £10 for a two-course lunch, or £15 for three-course early-bird dinner
(5pm to 6.30pm), the value is unbeatable.

Café 1 is a friendly and appealing bistro with candlelit tables amid elegant
blonde-wood and wrought-iron decor. There is an international menu based on quality
Scottish produce, from Aberdeen Angus steaks to crisp sea bass with velvet crab risotto
and chilli jam. Early-bird menu (one/two courses for £9/12.50) is served noon to 6.45pm
weekdays, and noon to 2.30pm Saturday.
