Island Hopping
Much of western and northern Scotland's unique character comes from the more than 700
islands off the coast, of which almost 100 are inhabited. A network of ferry services links
these islands to the mainland and each other; an Island Rover ticket ( Click here ) - which
offers unlimited ferry travel for 15 days - provides the best way to explore. Oban ( Click
here ) , the 'gateway to the isles', has ferries to seven different islands.
