The Trossachs
Made famous by Sir Walter Scott's writings in the early 19th century during the first flush
of Scottish tourism, the Trossachs ( Click here ) is a region of scenic lochs ringed by
craggy, wooded hills often described as 'the Highlands in miniature'. At its heart is Loch
Katrine ( Click here ) , where a classic steamboat cruises the waters among remote hills that
were once the territory of the outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor.
