Scottish Parliament Building
Edinburgh's most spectacular and controversial building, officially opened in 2004, houses
Scotland's devolved parliament ( Click here ) . The strange forms of the exterior are all
symbolic, from the oddly shaped windows on the west wall to the ground plan of the whole
complex, which represents a 'flower of democracy rooted in Scottish soil' (best seen look-
ing down from Salisbury Crags).
