repeated (drag the brush several times over the object to eliminate until the object is
canceled), or the action was needed only once (when clicking the “OK” button).
GIMP steps
(0) Open the picture to adjust.
(1) Find the proper function in the menu bar or toolbox.
(a) The subtask involved was to look at the toolbox for a button re-
sembling the intended action. It was found as healing brush with a
symbol of a “healing plaster.” (See Figures 4.12 and 4.13.)
(b) Alternatively look through the menu bar items (especially in what
seemed as most related: Image -
Adjustments, Filters, Tools) for
a relative command. It was found under Tools -
>
>
Healing. (The pointer changed and gained an attribute showing the
selected tool.)
>
Drawing tools -
(2) Click on the object to work on. (A warning in the status bar appears telling
to select a source first using control-click.)
(3) Control-click on the source.
(4) Drag the pointer (brush) over the object to eliminate. (Every time the mouse
button is released the effect is applied. This tool, however, is intended just
for small corrections, as we learn from the manual, so applying another tool
before is it necessary.)
(5) Undo the changes (and use another tool).
