Discussion/conclusion.
The hypothesis was supported by the results. Moreover, almost a third of the respon-
dents, who chose the right placement, recognized the attribute to expand on the first
information (the pointer), in both of the groups. In contrast to the Chinese group,
which placed the attribute in the second place below the pointer, the Czech respon-
dents would place it above. However, the result coincided with the habitual placement
of the attribute in real life, which may have triggered a familiarity bias. To further
verify the hypothesis we should design and perform more tests, using perhaps novel
objects for the respondents. We should also investigate further the cases not supporting
the hypothesis.

Hypothesis.
There is a close similarity between sequential information structure in language and
horizontal structure in visual composition. Noun (folder) and adjective (star attribute)
would mimic their position in a sentence (i.e., the attribute precedes the subject). (See
Figure 8.44.)
