Note
Whenever I work on a raw image file in Camera Raw or Lightroom and need to
take it into Photoshop, 99.9% of the time I'll open it as a Smart Object. That way,
the adjustments I've made will always be available to me so that I can alter them
if need be. If I take the image files into Photoshop without doing so, then what
I've done to that point is set in stone, so if I want to change anything I'll have to
start from scratch.
17. We're going to use a combination of the Spot Healing Brush and the Clone Stamp
tool, so start off by adding a new blank layer to the top of the layer stack and re-
naming it wires . Then choose the Spot Healing Brush tool ( Figure 10.27 ), and in
the options at the top of the screen, make sure that Content Aware is active and that
Sample All Layers is selected. Starting from the right side of the picture and with a
small brush head ( Figure 10.28 ) , paint over the overhead wires. (I find that shorter
rather than longer brush strokes work best.) Don't go over the wires that are too
close to anything else, like a bush or a hill, as you'll find you may get a smudge ef-
fect; we'll sort out those areas using the Clone Stamp tool.
