10. I now want to draw more attention across the middle area of the picture, which is
where the farmhouse, buildings, boat, field, and bushes are. We'll do this using the
Adjustment Brush. Click the New option, on the right side of the screen, and reset
all the adjustment sliders by double-clicking each of them in the panel. Select the
Mask option, and also make sure that Auto Mask is selected ( Figure 10.14 ) , and
then with the Adjustment Brush paint over the middle area of the picture, taking
care not to go too much into the lake and the sky. The Auto Mask option does a
great job keeping the mask within the trees and hills.

11. Deselect the Mask option so you can see the area you're adjusting, and move
Shadows to +100 and Exposure to +0.50. Add a little magenta from the sky by
moving Tint to +5 ( Figure 10.15 ) .
