4. Change the blend mode of the glow bottom layer to Color Dodge, and create mul-
tiple copies to brighten the light by pressing Command/Ctrl+J six times. Click the
uppermost layer, Shift-click the first glow bottom layer, go to Layer > New >
Group from Layers, and name it glow bottom .
Note
Creating six copies isn't the magic number of times to brighten the light; it's just
what's needed to brighten it in this particular picture. You may find that you need
to create more or fewer copies to achieve the desired effect.
5. Next we'll add reflected light onto the wardrobe and the floor. Add a new blank
layer, and name it reflected light - wardrobe . Change the blend mode of this layer
to Color Dodge, and with the same foreground color as before (R: 101, G: 74, B:
0), paint a few dabs of light onto the wardrobe with a soft-edged brush ( Figure
9.64 ) .
