22. Add a new blank layer and name it shadow . Choose a normal soft-edged brush
and paint a line underneath the tree. Go Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and add
10px of blur ( Figure 8.25 ) . Click OK and lower the opacity of the shadow layer to
15%.

Adding the Rhino
Now that we've created the landscape, we can get to work on the rhino.
Figure 8.26 shows the picture we'll be using. I took it when I visited Whipsnade Zoo in the
UK. With the two rhinos together, the mood of the picture is one of interaction and play.
But selecting and cutting out the rhino on the left results in a completely different feel.
