17. Click OK to close the Color Range properties and show the active selection on the
tree image. Enter Quick Mask mode by clicking the Quick Mask icon in the tool-
bar or pressing the letter Q. If you've set up Quick Mask as I showed you in
Chapter 1 , the areas selected will now be covered with the red overlay ( Figure
8.20 ) . With a normal round medium soft-edged brush and a white foreground col-
or, paint over the areas of the image where the red overlay is covering anything but
the tree—that is, the ground and parts of the sky. Exit Quick Mask mode by click-
ing the Quick Mask icon in the toolbar or by pressing Q.
