Vertical Storage
A vertical storage element is a structure designed to contain a large volume of
stormwater drained from a large impervious area. These structures are stored
on the surface and can be integrated into commercial sites where water needs
may be higher. This type of structure is often found throughout cities in Europe
(Figure 7-32). Stormwater can also be stored under hardscaped elements (such
as paths and walkways) through the use of structural plastic storage units, such
as RainTank or alternative manufactured storage products, and can supplement
on-site irrigation needs.
