Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport
Half-hourly blue-line metro trains (one way/return €8/14, one hour) run between the city
centre and airport from 5.30am to 11.30pm.
When returning to the airport some trains terminate early at Doukissis Plakentias, where
you get out and wait till an airport train (displayed on the train and platform screen) comes
along.
Express buses X95 (€5, one to 1½ hours) operate every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day,
between the airport and Plateia Syntagmatos, with a few intermediate stops. Buy tickets at
the kiosk near the bus stop.
Taxis to the city centre cost €35 (one hour).
Express buses X96 (€5, 1½ hours) operate 24 hours (every 15 to 20 minutes) from the air-
port to Piraeus, the main port.
Piraeus Port
Metro trains (€1.40, green line) run to the city centre every half-hour from 5.30am to
11.30pm.
Taxis to the city centre cost €30 (45 minutes).
Bus 040 (€1.40) runs to Syntagma every 15 to 20 minutes.
