Top Tips
Small paths weave all over the hill, but the paved path to the top starts near the periptero (kiosk) on Dionysiou
Areopagitou.
Bring camera gear: the summit gives one of the best views of the Acropolis and Attica - sunset and evening of-
fer spectacular light.
Above the treeline the hill is exposed: bring sunscreen, a hat and water; rain gear on wet days.
Informative English-language placards placed at major features explain the rich ancient history of the hill.
Take a Break
For refreshment, drop down to the cafes in Thisio, or restaurants such as Filistron ( Click here ) and Gevomai Kai
Magevomai ( Click here ) .
Alternatively, just at the hill's base (as you head back towards the Acropolis Museum), lovely Dionysos ( Click
here ) offers drinks with views or a fine meal.
