Top Tips
›
Arrive early in the day or late in the evening to beat the rush.
›
Allow plenty of time: with 8000 sq m of exhibition space, it could take several visits to appreciate the museum's
vast holdings, but it's possible to see the highlights in a half-day.
›
Exhibits are displayed largely thematically. For more information get an audioguide.
Take a Break
The
museum cafe
in the basement extends into an open-air internal courtyard. Or nip outside for coffee at
La Fa-
vorita
(Tositsa 8, Exarhia; Viktoria) , an airy cafe around the corner.
For a meal, the best bet is to head into Exarhia, to a place like Yiantes (

for fresh modern Greek food
with a glass of wine.
