In-Depth Information
November
Time to wrap up if you want to partake of the events around the city this
month. Scarves and umbrellas are often a good idea in November.
Eastside Culture Crawl
Dozens of local artists in Vancouver's Eastside open their studios to visitors at this ex-
cellent three-day showcase ( Click here ) in late November. Expect to come across a wild
and wacky array of works, from found art installations to woodblock portraits of iconic
Canadians.
Bright Nights in Stanley Park
Indicating that Christmas is on its way, this month-long event sees a swathe of the park
covered in fairy lights, Yuletide displays and elfish dioramas. There's also a Christmas-
themed train ride. Bright Nights ( www.vancouver.ca/parks/events/brightnights ) is Van-
couver's most popular seasonal attraction, so book ahead.
December
Time to embrace the winter by either going into hibernation or adding a
few extra layers of clothing. Events-wise, it's all about Christmas for the
rest of the year.
Santa Claus Parade
Rivaling the Pride Parade for spectator numbers, this Christmas procession
( www.rogerssantaclausparade.com ) in the first week of December is a family favorite.
Expect youth orchestras, carol-singing floats and, right at the end, the great man him-
self. And, yes, he's the real one.
