22) This centrally located tower sleepover combines standard business hotel-style
rooms (all with handy kitchenettes) plus a raft of on-site amenities: there can't be many
North American hotels that have both their own spa and comedy club. There's also an
indoor pool and steam room, and you're just a couple of downhill blocks from the tu-
mult of Robson St shops.
There are many restaurants within strolling distance, but the hotel also has its own
loungey, modern eatery if you're feeling too lazy to leave the building.

Vancouver City Centre) Vancouver's current 'it' hotel underwent a recent spectacular
renovation that brought the 1927-built landmark back to its golden-age glory. Despite
the abstract modern art lining its public areas, the hotel's rooms take a classic, elegant
approach with warming earth and coffee tones, pampering treats such as deep soaker
tubs and (in some rooms) sparkling downtown cityscape views.
Save time for the the lobby-level restaurant. Alongside the hotel's successful resur-
rection, Hawksworth ( Click here ) has become the place to be seen for the city's movers
and shakers - and you, if you look the part.

One of Vancouver's most stylish boutique hotel towers, Le Soleil is lined with classical
European furnishings and bold flourishes that have a chic, Versace-esque appeal. Most
rooms are compact but elegantly designed (corner roome have balconies), and you'll be
steps from the center of all the downtown nightlife action - although those on the high-
er floors will feel loftily far from the bustling streets.
If you don't fancy straying too far from your room, the hotel's lobby-level bistro
serves great cocktails as well as some unexpectedly excellent Indian tapas dishes. And
if you catch the eye of someone at the next table, rest assured: your in-room honor bar
contains an 'intimacy kit' with two condoms. It costs $8, though, so make sure you've
chosen well. Rates include access to a nearby gym.
