hind Armchair Books, this chatty, wood-floored haunt is a local fave. It serves up
hearty breakfast grub (try the omelet burrito), lunch specials (sandwiches, falafel or the
$10 burger-and-beer deal should do the trick) and baked treats (snag a chewy toffee
cookie). A good spot to fire up your laptop and update your travel blog.
RIMROCK CAFÉ WEST COAST $$
( 604-932-5565; www.rimrockwhistler.com ; 2117 Whistler Rd; mains $16-28;
5:45pm-9:30pm) On the edge of Creekside, accessible just off Hwy 99, this locals' favor-
ite includes highlights such as seared scallops, venison tenderloin and a recommended
Seafood Trio of grilled prawns, ahi (yellowfin) tuna and nut-crusted sablefish. All are
served in an intimate room with two fireplaces and on a large, flower-lined patio, where
you can watch the harried highway drivers zipping past.
Fancy restaurants have come and gone in Whistler over the years, but the Rimrock
continues to deliver, which is why you'll see more Whistlerites enjoying a fine-dining
night out here than anywhere else.

array of sweet and savory buckwheat crepes with fillings including ham, brie, as-
paragus, banana, strawberries and more. It's a good breakfast spot: go for eggs Benedict
or waffles and you'll be perfectly set up for a day of working it off on the slopes.
It's also a cozy little nook for dinner, when raclette as well as fondues (meat or
cheese) are added to the mix. All of which means any benefit you derived from work-
ing off your breakfast will soon be forgotten.
