SHOPPING
West 4th Ave is one of Vancouver's best strollable shopping strips, espe-
cially on the stretch west of Cypress St. Nip five blocks south to Broad-
way for another round of good local stores and bookshops, especially
west of Trafalgar St. Wherever you wander, there are coffee shops and
restaurants to keep you well-fueled.

9:30am-6:30pm Sat, noon-6pm Sun; 4) It's easy to spend a rainy afternoon at Kitsil-
ano's fave indie music store sifting through the racks of new and used vinyl and hard-
to-find imports (including some of those new-fangled CDs). There's an old-school
High Fidelity ambiance here - the scuffed blue carpet and Death Race vintage video
game help - but ask the music-nerd staff for tips on the local live scene: they know
their stuff.
Tickets are sold here for local shows and there's also a back corner DVD section if
you need something to pop in your laptop for the flight home.

9) This quirky store combines an inventory of trendy retro knick knacks - 1970s
whiskey glasses, vintage suitcases, school exercise books etc - with reproduction items
that look just as old. Among all the furniture, homewares and accessories, look out for
enamel kitchenware, leather journals and classic books (including some legendary chil-
dren's titles that will take you right back to your childhood).
A great place to pick up a weird and wacky alternative souvenir.
