into Kitsilano's favorite independent coffeehouse to hang out with the cool locals. Grab
a perch in the spartan, cafeteria-style room, and sip on a sky-blue cup of great java.
This company roasts its own beans, which means you're unlikely to be disappointed -
except if you're craving a Lucky's Doughnut (only the Main St branch serves them).
It's busy here during peak hours, with the tables dominated by fashionable young
mothers and their strollers, so consider an off-peak visit or a takeout for your stroll
along shop-lined West 4th. At the time of research plans were afoot to move to a larger
location just along the street: check the website before you drop by.

( www.o5tea.com ; 2208 W 4th Ave; 9:30am-11pm Mon-Sat, 10:30am-6pm Sun; 4) A sign
of the modern-day renaissance of tea bars, this lounge-like hipster spot is ideal for fans
of that other hot caffeine beverage. Perch on a metal stool at the counter - which has
the feel of a communal long-table - and prepare for a tea-based voyage of discovery.
Single cups cost $5 to $7, while tasting flights are up to $17.
Be aware that the top-end teas here can be very expensive and it's easy to drop $50
on a couple of nice ones to take home. There are also regular evening tasting events
that are always fun and revealing: check ahead before your visit to see what's coming
up.
