With its unique-for-Vancouver 20-strong draft list of mostly
Western US beers, this convivial new resto-bar is tapping into the popularity of craft
brews from Portland and beyond. You'll find Rogue, Hopworks, Elysian and Deschutes
well represented here, so if you're a fan of superhoppy IPAs, you'll soon be puckering
your lips with pleasure. Arrive early on weekend evenings to snag a table.
Life isn't just about booze, though. Absorb some of that beer with a flatbread pizza
or two - there's often one on the daily specials board.

The perfect contemporary reinvention of a trad neighborhood bar, this is arguably
Mount Pleasant's merriest watering hole. The top-drawer craft-beer list runs from
Fullers to Phillips and includes own-brand Main Street Pilsner, soon to be produced in a
nearby new brewery building. Indulge in Main's best Sunday roast or hang with the
locals at Monday's funtastic quiz or Name that Tune night.
Along with the beer, there's an excellent 50-strong cocktail menu here - check the
board above the bar for the week's fresh sheet, then decamp to a back table to sip your
prize. It won't help you answer the quiz questions any faster but it may make you call
out the answers by mistake.

Attesting to Main's status as one Vancouver's independent coffeehouse capitals, when
this large corner cafe opened in 2012 it was soon crammed with locals. It roasts its own
coffee so the quality is high and you can also faceplant into a full selection of lovely
Lucky's Doughnuts. Avoid peak times: this place is often full to bursting point.
