Vancouver's oldest-established private galleries, Equinox pioneered this area's arty new
credentials by being one of the first big names to move here. Look out for ever-chan-
ging works by local and national artists - and if there's a show by Fred Hertzog, make
sure you visit. His brightly colored yesteryear photos of vintage Vancouver are spectac-
ular.

Joining its arty brethren here in 2013, the new Monte Clark is well worth a look. Past
exhibitors have included photography by local-boy-made-good Jeff Wall, while works
by celebrated artists like Roy Arden and Douglas Coupland have also graced the walls.

thing. Look out for eye-popping photography plus First Nations works combing tradi-

move has enabled more artworks to be displayed, but there remains a very strong focus
on internationally renowned artists who reflect the city's rich conceptual art heritage.

space and you're guaranteed some eye-popping art to look at. Mostly local artists are
showcased and there's a new exhibition every month. Past themes have ranged from
bizarre paintings of dolls heads to art on beer bottles.
