Granville Island is home to several theaters and a hotbed of performance
art and theatrical festivals.
GRANVILLE ISLAND STAGE
THEATER

Vancouver's leading theater company, the
Arts Club, has two stages: the large Granville Island Stage hosts bigger productions -
including musicals - while across the street the Revue Stage hosts smaller, more intim-
ate plays, often by local playwrights. Either way, there's usually something worth see-
ing during the September to June main season. Be sure to check

for day-of-show half-price tickets.
If you're curious about West Coast theatrics, look out for plays by Morris Panych,
one of BC's favorite playwright sons.
BC LIONS

Chinatown)
The Lions are Vancouver's team in the Canadian Football League (CFL),
which is arguably more exciting than its US NFL counterpart. They've had some de-
cent showings over the past few years, winning the all-important Grey Cup champion-
ship most recently in 2011. Tickets are easy to come by - unless the boys are laying in-
to their arch enemies, the Calgary Stampeders.
The team relies on its jump-out-of-your-seat offense, and catching a game at the sta-
dium includes plenty of schmaltzy razzamattaz, from cheerleaders to half-time shows.
It's family friendly and a lot cheaper than catching an NHL hockey game.
