short stroll westwards along the seawall from the Granville Island entrance, this almost-
too-popular seafood stand is one of the city's fave fish-and-chip joints, offering halibut,
salmon and cod encased in crispy golden batter. The smashing (and lighter) fish tacos
are also recommended, while ever-changing daily specials - brought in by the nearby
fishing boats - often include scallop burgers or ahi (yellowfin) tuna sandwiches.
Expect long queues in summer and arrive as early as you can. There's not much of a
seating area, so pack your grub and continue along the seawall to
Vanier Park
for a pic-
nic with the ever-watchful seagulls.

A good
budget option but also clamorously busy in summer; your table at the little Public Mar-
ket food court can be auctioned off to the highest bidder when you're ready to leave
(just kidding). Arrive off-peak to be sure of a seat and you'll have the pick of some ex-
cellent vendors hawking everything from Indian curries to German sausages.
Those on a health kick should consider the taco salad at the Mexican food stand: it's
packed with fresh-chopped goodies.
