couver's best high-concept seafood restaurants and is a highlight of Yaletown fine din-
ing. Gentle music fills the brick-lined, blue-hued interior, while seafood towers, arctic
char and BC sablefish grace the tables inside and on the patio. Consider the semicircu-
lar raw bar, and watch the whirling blades prepare delectable sushi and sashimi.
Service here is perfect: warm, gracious and ever-friendly. Reservations are required.

Mon-Sat; Yaletown-Roundhouse) A charming and romantic heritage building setting
with a courtyard that feels exactly like you've suddenly stepped into continental
Europe, this lovely spot seems like a secret, despite having been here for years. The
classy white-tablecloth setting is ideal for contemporary French approaches to dishes
such as duck breast and Cornish game hen. And the wine list is large and impressive.
Unlike many fine-dining restaurants, there are dozens of tipples available by the
glass here. In fact, check ahead for one of Brix' winemakers dinners, a social highlight
for local oenophiles.
