Even if you don't plan to buy a full outfit, this is a great spot to accessorize with a
crystal-beaded handbag or a must-have vintage wig that reminds you of a '70s Abba
gig. The staff is great here, too: ask for tips and they'll point out some real finds dotted

Vancouver's smallest bookstore,
this charming little nook has a cult following among locals. They drop in to peruse the
shelves of used tomes (history, biography and contemporary fiction have the best selec-
tions), while indulging in an excellent cup of herbal tea or locally roasted coffee made
by the store's friendly owner (he also makes great sandwiches). Sit in the window for
the full effect.
There's often an artwork or two from a local on the walls and it's a comfortable spot
to hang out in if it's raining heavily outside (have another java while waiting).

This popular arts and crafts resource center is ideal if you need to scratch a creative
itch. You'll find supplies and the space to make a design of your own - from buttons to
knitted scarves - or you can just pick up something someone else has already labored
over and tell people back home you made it yourself. Check ahead for workshops that
include screen printing and soap making.

which are a great way to meet local artisans and pick up unique souvenirs. Check the
