Since starting in 2010, this German-style Christ-
mas market has lured Yuletide-loving locals in their thousands. They come for dozens
of stalls hawking arts and crafts (including lots of German Christmas ornaments), as
well as hearty grub from baked apples to grilled bratwurst. Smile-triggering Christmas
music and warm
glühwein
stoke the air of jollity.
Save money on the entry fee by coming during the day: weekday tickets from 11am
to 4pm are reduced to $2.

located and now one of Vancouver's largest used (mostly) record shops. You'll need
hours to sort through the higgledy-piggledy array of crates and cardboard boxes hous-
ing everything from polka to Pink Floyd. Make sure you know your prices since not
everything is a bargain - most of the sale items are gathered near the front of the shop.
With one of the widest selections of albums available in the city, this is the spot to
find that rare Nine Inch Nails record that always cheers you up.

If rain threatens to curtail your shopping activities, duck in-
side downtown Vancouver's main mall. You'll find all the usual chain and department
store suspects, plus highlights like H&M, Purdy's Chocolates and Harry Rosen. You
can also check your email for free at the Apple Store. There's a large food court if you
need a pit stop from all that retail therapy.
