A buzzing seafood joint where Van-
couver movers and shakers like to be seen scoffing a wide array of aquatic treats.
Knowing reinventions of the classics include prawn or salmon flatbread pizzas, but it's
the mighty seafood platter of salmon, cod, scallops and tiger prawns that sates true fish
nuts. Lunchtime fish and chips to go costs $14, and there's also an excellent raw bar
with oysters aplenty.
The menu is huge here, so feel free to ask your server for some navigational pointers.

This lively
cantina is popular with in-the-know West Enders for good reason. It's a great place to
find yourself late at night, when the warm party vibe makes you feel like you're
hanging with friends at a beach bar. Turn your taste buds on with a few rounds of gold
tequila, and be sure to sample some spicy, fusionesque nosh, including the wonderful
halibut tacos.
It's superbusy here most weekends, so if you want to hear yourself think, consider
dropping by on a weeknight.

This venerable English Bay eatery was sourcing
unique BC ingredients long before the fashion for Fanny Bay oysters took hold. A great
showcase for West Coast cuisine, the weekend brunch is a neighborhood legend (Dun-
geness crab omelet recommended). But the early-bird (before 6pm) tasting dinner is a
bargain: for $30 you'll have three superb courses - add $20 for wine pairing.
Once you're done, take a romantic evening stroll along the beach at English Bay. The
next day, consider dropping by the restaurant's take-out window: it's a great place to
pick-up quality fish and chips ($12) for an impromptu beach picnic.
