network movement was calculated from the displacement of phalloidin speckles be-
tween a set of consecutive frames. The calculated actin flow field is shown in the lab
(c) and cell (d) frames of reference. In the lab frame of reference the actin network
had a small retrograde flow in the lamellipodium and large inward movements at the
rear sides. In the cell frame of reference, the actin network moved uniformly from
the leading edge toward the cell body, with inward movements at the rear sides.
