In-Depth Information
Trailheads often offer amenities such as drinking fountains, restrooms, parking, bike
racks, and maps.
The AHTM also travels approximately 6 miles east from Frostburg to Woodcock
Hollow Road. This section of the trail also follows the historic Western Maryland
Scenic Railroad. At the time of this writing, construction was underway to finish
the remaining 9-mile section of the trail connecting it with Cumberland. When com-
plete, the entire trail will be more than 20 miles long and will connect to the nearly
1000-foot-long Brush Tunnel, also built in 1911. The tunnel will also be shared with
the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad.
DIRECTIONS
From Cumberland, take Interstate 68 west and exit at MD Route 36 (exit 34)

Depot Road to the Old Depot Train Station. Turn right onto New Hope Road and
follow it for less than a quarter mile. Trailhead parking is located on the right.
To reach the trailhead at Woodcock Hollow Road, follow MD Route 36
