SCOOTER HIRE
On average, hire costs NT$300 to NT$600 per day. Some places will allow you to rent
with an International Driver's Permit, while others require a local scooter licence.
The following areas only require an International Driver's Permit (though this could
change): Hualien, Ruisui, Kenting, Chiayi, Sun Moon Lake, Tainan, Jiaoxi, Nanzhuang
and Kaohsiung, and the offshore islands (best on these latter places to ask your
homestay or hotel to arrange a scooter).
