On Little Kinmen, Lingshui Lake is a popular twitching venue. It's also a good
place to spot fiddler crabs in the mudflats.
For more information on the birds of Kinmen, visit the Shuangli Wetlands Area
Centre (Shuānglǐ Shīdì Zìrán Zhōngxīn; 8.30am-5pm) , a research facility devoted to wet-
lands preservation. Also pick up a copy ofBirdwatching at Kinmen,available at
most visitor information centres.
Eating & Drinking
Some of the smaller towns have a noodle shop or restaurant and there are a few
7-Elevens on strategic corners. It's probably best to carry lunch if you're going out all
day.
Cheng Gong Dumplings TAIWANESE $

for its guōtiē (pan-fried dumplings) and oyster omelettes. From Chen Ching Lan's Man-
sion ( Click here ) , head back to the main road (Huangdao Rd), turn right, and it's two
blocks on the left off the main road.
Jin Shui Restaurant TAIWANESE $$$
(Jīnshuǐ Shítáng; 48 Shuitou Village; dishes from NT$200; 11am-2pm & 5-9pm) Right beside
Deyue Mansion in Shuitou Village ( Click here ) , this much-loved restaurant is famous for
its taro and Yùtou páigǔ (pork ribs stew), a local speciality.
Quemoy Garden Cafe CAFE
(Jīnmén Huāyuán; 126 Xiaojing; coffee from NT$100, pastries from NT$70; midday-6pm Wed-
Mon; ) From the patio of a former 'military brothel', this lovely cafe serves arguably
the best coffee in Kinmen. They also do refreshing teas and pick-me-up juices.
