Get here early as seats fill up fast with locals and Japanese tourists. There's a picture
menu to help you order (and a reported English menu) or just point at what looks good
around you. The kung pao chicken ( gōngbǎo jī dīng ) here is some of the best around.

hua St is Taipei's only Guizhou restaurant. The interior is upscale but relaxed, and dishes
are authentic and well presented. Just ask the manager and he'll be happy to introduce
the history behind any particular item.
Guizhou cuisine, like that of nearby Sichuan province, is noted for its spice, but dishes
generally have a greater range and more delicate flavours. The restaurant's blog has a
good introduction in English to Guizhou cuisine though the link is in Chinese. Use
Google Translate to read it.
The restaurant is in a courtyard off the main street, just south of Minquan W Rd.

French food in town. In 2012, the hotel underwent its first renovation in 33 years, though
it retained its signature art-deco touches. In addition, the menu was altered to allow for
lighter dining (three or four courses as opposed to the standard eight). Reservations are
recommended.
