In-Depth Information
Get a CityWalk coupon book - This is a completely free coupon book offering savings
all across CityWalk . You can get it from the small kiosk near the elevator between the two
floors of CityWalk . You can also get dining information here. Vouchers from here are gen-
erally for food and not for merchandise, though the vouchers do vary.
Use the single rider lines - This is more of a time-saving tip than a money-saving one: if
you do not mind riding separately from the rest of your party, take advantage of single rider
lines - they will reduce your time in queue lines significantly meaning you can experience
more things per day, and that means you may be able to cut a day off your time at Univer-
sal, saving yourself the entry and food price for that day.
How to spend less time queuing:
Park opening - Make sure you get to the theme park by the time it opens - ideally you
should at the gate 30 minutes or more before opening. Remember it will take some time
to park your car and get to the parks if you are doing this. Early morning is the quietest
point of the day and in the first hour you can usually do two or three of the biggest rides,
something that would take several hours during the day. The gates are also often opened
early than advertised, particularly during busy periods.
Touring Plans - We have expertly crafted touring plans which tell you what order to do
the attractions in, these are devised to let you see as much as possible whilst spending as
little time as is possible in lines. Use them.
Parades and Fireworks - If you have a desire to get on rides and no desire to see parades
or fireworks, then use the time the shows are on to visit the big rides, as crowds dwindle
during these big events
Parades -Asafollowuptip,donotrideattractions neartheparade routeimmediately after
the parade, they will be busier than usual.
The 59-minute rule - If Universal closes its parks at 9:00pm then that means that at that
time the lines (not the rides) will be closed. Anyone in the queue line at park closing time
will be allowed to ride, no matter how long the line is. This means that if you have one fi-
nal ride to do and it is getting to park closing time make sure that you are in line before the
park closes and you will still be able to ride. This rule may not apply is an attraction has an
exceptionally long line which would cause it to keep running for hours after park closing -
recently, notably, Escape from Gringotts has limited guest entry before the park officially
closes.
