Tips, Savings and More:
Money saving tips:
Bring food from home - Universal allows you to bring your own food into the parks so
why not do exactly that? Whether it is a bag of chocolates or a drink, you can purchase
these items at a fraction of the price anywhere outside of Universal property. For drinks,
why not put them in a cooling bag (hard-sided coolers are not allowed in the parks) and/or
freeze them to be drunk throughout the day. Food should be fine to be kept in a backpack
throughout the day.
Bring rain gear - There is a high likelihood that at some point during your Universal theme
parkadventureyouwillgetwet-whetherthatisthroughoneofthewaterridesorplayareas,
or whether you get caught in one of the famous Floridian thunderstorms. Either way we re-
commend you bring some sort of rain protection from home - either a raincoat, a poncho
or even an umbrella (be aware of lightning and umbrellas though). This saves you 1) from
purchasing these items in the theme parks at very inflated prices, and 2) buying new clothes
when youget soaked to replace what youalready have. Another tip: Those big human dryers
outside the water rides that you can pay $5 to go into are not very effective - do not waste
your money.
Buy tickets in advance - Whatever you do, do not buy tickets at the gate or you will waste
time and pay more than you need to. As you are reading this guide, we can safely assume
that you will be doing some planning before you go, so there is no excuse not to buy your
tickets in advance. You can do this over the phone, online at www.universalorlando.com
or through a third party - either way you will save at least $20 per multi-day ticket by not
purchasing them at the gate. What's more, if you purchase these tickets through the official
Universal website you will receive a coupon which you can exchange for a booklet with up
to $150 in savings vouchers. In addition, certain countries will find that they can get special
deals such as the UK where you can get a 14-day ticket for the price of a standard 2-day
two-park ticket on the official Universal Orlando website.
You do not NEED an Express Pass - If you make sure to follow our touring plans you will
be able to complete both Universal Parks in two days, so if you can spare two days then
Express Pass simply is not needed: you can save up to $135 per person on Express Passes
alone.
If you want Express Passes, then stay on-site - On site hotels are expensive but one little-
known perk of staying on-site at a deluxe hotel is that you get unlimited Express Passes for
