Chapter 10
Guests with disabilities:
Visiting a theme park with a disability can seem like a complicated process, but whatever
your disability Universal Orlando has worked hard to make your experience as positive as
possible and to give you as much of the experience as they can. Although, we could not
possibly cover every kind of disability in this section we have tried to include as much in-
formation as is possible.
Universal Attraction Assistance Pass:
A Universal Attraction Assistance Pass can really ease the day for some visitors. In order to
obtain it you will need to go to Guest Services (to the right through the turnstiles) and ask
for the Attraction Assistance Pass.
Although it is not required, we strongly recommend you get a note from your doctor in Eng-
lish explaining what exactly you need help with - whether it is not waiting in the sun to
not waiting for prolonged periods of time in line to not waiting in crowded areas. It will all
depend on your situation. Your doctor does NOT need to explain what your disability is,
merely what help you will require in the theme parks.
The Universal Team Members at Guest Services will ask you several question to determine
eligibility and what type of help you will need - as mentioned before a letter from a doctor
is not required, but will greatly assist this process. You will then be issued an Attraction
Assistance Pass and it will be explained to you.
Using the pass:
When you reach an attraction you would like to experience, show your Assistance Pass to
the first Team Member you see at the entrance of the line (this person is called the attraction
'greeter'). If the regular attraction wait time is less than 30 minutes then you will be imme-
diately directed towards an alternative queue - this is often the Express Pass queue line. If
the regular wait time for the attraction is more than 30 minutes then the greeter will write
down a time on your Pass to return - we will call this a 'reservation' for the purpose of this
guide. When that time comes around, show your pass with the reservation written in it at the
ride entrance and you will be allowed entry through the alternative queue. Remember that
this is NOT a front-of-the-line ticket and waits will be up to 15 minutes.
You can only hold one 'reservation' for a ride with a wait of over 30 minutes at any one
time. You may still enjoy accelerated entrance to attractions with less than a 30-minute wait
even if you have a reservation. If you want to change which attraction you have a reserva-
