Digital Crown
Every new category of device introduced by Apple has been defined by a new and unique
input device. The Mac introduced the mouse to the world; the iPod brought us the scroll
wheel, and the iPhone introduced Multi-Touch technology that enabled us to swipe, scroll
and pinch through content. With Apple Watch, it's the Digital Crown that defines the
product. Mechanical watches have historically been used to set the time and wind the
mainspring, but on Apple Watch it's used to scroll and magnify content on the display,
ensuring wearers can interact with apps without their fingers getting in the way.
Additionally, you can push the Digital Crown to return to the Home screen, or press and
hold it to activate Siri.
