Leaflet API
The Leaflet API is specifically designed for mobile devices. Developed by
Agafonkin ( 2013 ) and other contributors, it is just 28 kB of JavaScript code—
much smaller than other APIs. The code is also more readable. Leaflet is closely
integrated with CloudMade tiles that have been rendered from OpenStreetMap
vector data although it can use other tile services as well. Figure 6 demonstrates
the use of the Leaflet API and the mapping of multiple types of symbols.
Baidu Map API
The government of mainland China has exercised a level of control over the
Internet that is unmatched by all other countries in the world. Access to Google is
intermittent, making it essentially useless within China. Although Google Maps
