Festivals & Events
The Grand Teton Music Festival ( 307-733-1128; www.gtmf.org ; prices vary) in
Teton Village offers nightly symphony concerts in summer, with free Tuesday concerts
geared at families. In Teton Valley, a fabulous summer music festival series includes indi-
vidual artists of renown, as well as the Targhee Fest (featuring a range from hip-hop and
alt music to funk) in mid-July, and the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Music Festival in early
August.
Sleeping
Rates vary widely and seasonally; some hotels also levy a resort fee. Rates drop up to
50% in the shoulder seasons (when it is too warm to ski but too muddy to mountain bike).

A steal, this central old ski lodge offers narrow four-bunk rooms with newly remodeled
bathrooms. The spacious lounge with fireplace is ideal for movies or Scrabble tourna-
ments and there's a playroom for tots. Guests can use a microwave and outdoor grill, coin
laundry and a ski-waxing area. Closure dates vary by year and according to snowfall.
Rock Spring Yurt $$$

ience without the hassle, come here for a modified Central Asian-style tent equipped with
a woodburning stove and gas lamps. An expert guide cooks your food and does the dishes
(but you tell the bedtime stories yourself). The hut is reached via a 2.5-mile hike from
Teton Village in summer.
