Sun; ) A must, this funny strip mall transports you to Paris with its elaborate, authentic
desserts, each well worth its weight in cellulite. There are also wonderful handmade
chocolates by Oscar Ortega, crepes and French pastries. Scott Lane is just off W Broad-
way; the bakery is in a small shopping plaza on the left.
Pica's Mexican Taqueria $$

Cheap and supremely satisfying, with Baja tacos wrapped in homemade corn tortillas or
cochinita pibil (chile-marinated pork), served with Mexican sodas. Locals love this place;
it's the best value around. It's just around the corner from Albertson's.

often served by the owner herself. Well away from the tourist traps, Cathy's lively French
cafe also has live music or salsa dancing on weekends. It's behind the new post office in
an office building.

hard-pressed to beat this tiny shack whose expert eggman serves them up fresh and
wrapped in a grilled tortilla, surefire fuel for the slopes.

cornflower-blue house, the Blue Lion offers outdoor dining under grand old trees on the
deck. Served in peppercorn-rosemary cream sauce, the renowned rack of lamb may take a
while but wins rave reviews. There's also early-bird specials.
