to Saturday), including sunset rides and corral rides for kids under seven. There are also
fun Western cookouts on a section of the old Bannock Trail overlooking Hebgen Lake on
Monday and Friday evenings (adult/child $35/15).

Winter
In November the world-class Rendezvous Trail System ( www.rendezvousskitrails.com ;
day pass $8) becomes the training ground for US Olympic cross-country ski teams, with
30 miles of groomed skiing and skating trails. Grooming goes through March, when the
Rendezvous Marathon Ski Race draws hundreds of skiers. There are also special kids'

Less developed but incredibly scenic, the Riverside Trails cut through 1.5 miles of fir
and pine to emerge on old National Park Service roads and other trails alongside the
Madison River. Catch a link to the trail on the east side of Boundary St between Madison
Ave and Firehole Ave.
Rangers lead free snowshoe walks from West Yellowstone's Chamber of Commerce
Information Center (1:30pm weekends).
Many of the hotels rent snowmobiles and offer good-value winter lodging and rental
packages. Guided snowmobile day tours to the park cost around $180 per person. Several
agencies rent snowmobiles for outside the park for $114 to $169 per day, including Ren-
