T-slot. T-slot nuts can be purchased from the usual suppliers but they are also
very easy to make.
Under no circumstances should you use hexagon headed bolts or nuts as
T-nuts. They are not suitable and could pull out from the T-slot, possibly dam-
aging the table at the same time. T-nuts should have parallel sides to offer
maximum strength and clamping support.
One place it is permissible to use a rounded profile to the top of a T-nut is
on angle plates where the angle plate slot is rounded at the ends. The roun-
ded profile enables the T-nut to slide right up to the edge of the angle plate's
slot.
