readingsmustbe<10NTU(JointFAO/WHOExpertCommitteeonFoodAdditives2006).
Ifthereisturbidityingranularsucrose,testasfollowstodetermineifmoreilteringwillelimi-
nateit:
1. Filterthe50°BxtestsolutionusingaWhatmanNo.54ilterpaper.
2. Checkforturbidityintheiltrate.Ifnoneisfound,thegranularsucrosemaybeacceptableforuse
aftermoreiltering.
